and these other numbers:

7007 (you know the area code!)

so, i'm talking to "e" about these lights that need fixing in the building (cause ian's doing it) and suddenly the topic changes to some people have complained about the flower lights that i have on my balcony. (most of you have seen them, i would genuinely like your opinion on this). because they are pink and fake flowers they feel they are tacky. so i'm like: is council sending me a letter? she's like, well we have to maintain the look of the building, blah blah blah, bylaws, whatever (is it obvious how i feel?) so i said: well, until council sends me a letter i'm not going to take them down because i don't think they're obtrusive or obnoxious. in fact, someone from the building just complimented me on them. are they obnoxious and tacky and i just can't see it? i mean, i barely have anything on my balcony... i could arrange for some real dead flowers; with my record, it'll only take a couple weeks.

on a nicer note, today ian came over for birthday dinner and cupcakes (so he can take them to work, unlike whole cakes which are harder to transport). we started playing his birthday NES and making the bruchetta... the pasta didn't get made because ian cut the whole 1/2 loaf so we ate bruchetta. which turned out yummy.

less yummy would have been the angel food cake i made for knitting in the buff. i think it got over whipped while i got stuck on the phone with "e" so i didn't cook right. i pulled it out because the top was totally brown... i decided to risk it. i shouldn't have. when i was flipping the pan over to cool it, the whole thing came tumbling out. like warm foam. it was hilarious. except that i still have a tonne of icing that is looking for some cake action. seriously. i made a batch of icing that said for 10-12 people i had at least 18 cupcake...probably 21. and like 3/4 of the icing left over.

then we watched the last episode of law & order SVU (season 1) and when i say we, i mean me. ian's like, let's watch a scary one. and then falls asleep. superjob!

now i'm trying to eat the grapes i bought today, but i noticed (while making my lunch for work tomorrow) that there was a cob web/ spider eggs on one section of the sprig, or whatever it's called. i'm trying to force myself to eat some of the loose ones (i threw the spidery section away (and then some) locked inside a plastic bag just in case the eggs hatch tonight). but i keep thinking of biology 11 and eggs hatching inside a person. sure, they were worms, but couldn't that happen with spiders? and it can't really be that great of a feeling. as you can maybe see, i'm having trouble eating those grapes.

i'm working at the store tomorrow, which is good. i have a computer to buy... and i already have two visitors lined up. thanks rach and yvonne! i like visitors!
