so far

we've spent two nights in my gorgeous gorgeous made-with-love bed (this means it's comfy) i've had a massage from becca, thai food, cheesey sticks, starbucks, moderne burger veggie burger, orange julius and gone shopping. not bad for only being here two nights!

today we're going to head to hope. while gerry's sleeping i might pop up to save-on to get frozen strawberries for smoothies. yum. in hope we're going to do the much talked about house cleaning and then hopefully play games and have a few beers on saturday. we're deciding if we're staying in a hotel or at my sister's when we get there. eek.

hopefully the estate stuff will be sorted after these few days in hope. wish us luck.

uh oh, i'm in trouble

i just got in trouble for blogging instead of resting. i am feeling better though... so now it's okay. :o)

i thought it'd be a good time to list things i want to do in the couv, and if you're interested in participating, or have a day in mind you can let me know.

sophie's for breakkie (pancakes)
sophie's for palm reading (veggie burger)
olive garden (which is on the evening of the 4th)

shop for office wear
get another 'international driving permit' so it will last longer

and possibly find that cute miu miu bag in a diffferent colour that i've been checking out since brown thomas re-did their window display
foundation
indian
mexican
ihop (i really want pancakes)

things i want to bring back:
tim horton's vanilla cap. mix for naomi
duncan heinz brownie mix for duane
peanut butter cups
honeynut cheerios
marshmallows
oreos
purdy's
those o'henry chocolate/peanut butter eggs that are only around at easter

one more sleep!

oh god. i've been in bed all day. gerry's left to pick up some lemsip (neo citron-ish product) and so i've snuck online, despite strict orders to do nothing. i feel gerry's pain... tomorrow i'm going to be a wreck. i'm going to be stressed because of flying, but on top of it, i'm going to be sick.

plan for today? wash a bit of clothes, have a shower (this will cure me, i'm sure), shop for a few gifts in town. oh, and get better. who cares about having a cold if i can be in bed and moan about it in comfort. there is no way i want to fly and visit my friends while sick... i have a feeling that will be less fun for me and them. boo urns.

oh, and...

i'm sick. i have a cold, and don't want to have one when i get home (whoot!). in fact, i'm not interested in stress headaches combined with cold headaches at all. how do you like that?

maybe i'll just take some drugs.

oh, and i will be home tuesday evening, and ready to hang out on wednesday. by hang out, i mean shop.

two sleeps

as long as there's no napping, it will be two sleeps 'til i'm back in the couv! whoot!

last night we hosted a surprise party for jim and ann-marie (two of gerry's friends). good times were had, and gerry and i collected heaps more booze for our house. this means that if anyone comes to visit us within the next say 6 months, you probably won't have to bring alcohol. unless we have another party before that.

conor went all out and brought as much booze as baby stuff. in fact, i guess he could have replaced some of the booze with baby stuff, cause he had to go shopping for more diapers (their three-day supply ended after one night, due to a wee bit of pain) and another change of clothes for david patrick.

it was fun to see suz, the first of gerry's friends to meet me, who i hadn't seen since niagara. and of course to see sinead who happened to bring her lovely furla with her, yay! furlas=fun, whatever the circumstance.

i'd say things went off well, and probably people had fun. afterall, once connect 4 comes out, everyone's having a party! whoot!

From Gerry

hahaha. she left her computer logged on. see this is the problem with apples, they remember your passwords and leave you logged on becuase apple basically believes that we are all good people. yeah right. just cause i haven't bothered writing a virus for mac os x doesn't mean i'm a good person. just that i'm lazy.
shouldn't i say more here, since i have this opportunity to blog as ursula. mighti say how great and well, HUGE gerry is? Well, yeah. he is. heeheheee

change causes chaos

today, my second last day at work was AWESOME!

i had my exit interview with the head team leader and then she asked me if i wanted to do something else today. did i ever! so i got to open envelopes and enter data into the computer. it was so mindless but i totally got to gossip and get the dirt on my horrible team leader that it was the BEST!

tomorrow i get to do it all again! whoot! and to top it off, i'm get to do a mid-shift, instead of the late one and then i can come home earlier! yahoo!

oh, the title? all of the mail comes from the UK cause we're in the UK Department. OH MY GOD! they put the funniest things on their postal stamps. not the stamps you lick, but the ones that in canada at christmas would say HO HO HO, or something. in england, they let people know how they feel about coins. post no coins was on one side, change causes chaos on the other. you know, to make sure the message gets across. i almost pissed my pants! even funnier is how stupid the members are. it's like if you're british, you've got some money and you've got timeshare it means you're an idiot. in order to bank your weeks, which makes them eligible for trading, you can call us, or you can fill out a form, sign it, and return it. sometimes people sign it and don't check the boxes. sometimes they check the boxes but don't sign it. sometimes they sneakily enclose a letter and use the thing(not a real envelope, but one of those 'lick three corners and it's a self-contained envelope-ish thing') to post the letter. anyway, what a great day.

light it up

today (while gerry was recovering from a hangover) i went into town with isabelle and had breakkie. then we went shopping... the search continues for a lace tablecloth for d's mom, but is now over for a coal bucket, a poker, a shovel, those metal grate things that stop the coal from falling down, and some fire logs. good times, really. and we also found a nice simple table cloth for at my house. yay.

yesterday gerry and i went to blarney in the morning and then came home to meet up with jim. we all went into town to watch the rugby game and have a few drinks. it was a really good game. i quite like rugby. it will replace hockey while i'm in ireland. once i'm back in canada, it will be all hockey all the time. anyway, ireland won, which was very exciting. after the game, i met up with some of the girls and had drinks and dinner.

i love that i only have four days of work left. i really need to find an easy 9-5 job that doen't make me work weekends... or lates, cause working 'til 8.30 this week is gonna suck.

time to light a fire. it was sunny here today, but it's cold in the house.

paddy's day

today was my first st. patrick's day in ireland.

here they call it paddy's day. also, there is no if you don't wear green you get pinched rule here. we went to the parade in cork, which was short but nice. then we went for drinks (and by we, i mean gerry). gerry bought me a beer, it's still gross. and so he had to drink it, the one he bought, and then the one that rose's husband bought him. i had a few sips.

then we went for a coffee and headed home. i went to bed and then when i woke up danielle was online! did i mention i love dsl? so we played some crib: good times. and tried to convince gerry to move to canada. i am not 100% sure it worked, but we'll see. i'm going to try really hard to make him fall in love with canada while we're there. ideas for this include not having anymore sex until we get to canada (this will make him associate the place with having sex... hmmm maybe i should take experimental psych afterall) they also include, good cheap food, lots of games, and fun times with all my lovely lovely friends.

we may also have to stop for icecream in chilliwack at the milk maid farm. i mean c'mon that's reason enough to move.

i am so excited about canada i can't believe it. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!

gettin' some in ireland

guess what?! gerry is amazing. we have the internet now! yay!

a mysterious package arrived today and i didn't know it was the modem. clearly, had i known, i would have ripped open the box and had internet all day. instead i dismissed it as some hard drive or stash of porn that gerry had ordered online. nope. as soon as gerry got home (despite me being away procuring food stuffs for our dinner) he set up the internet and now i'll be surfing like there's no tomorrow. whoot!

carca date on sunday?

oh! and i'll be online for msning tomorrow as soon as i get home... so at like 6.00-6.15 ish. this means 10ish b.c. time and 1ish ontario time.

see you soon! and welcome back to me. yay!

(oh and "you can set up your webcam" suggests gerry. and how!)

baby got back

on top of quitting my job, i am going back to canada (when i said soon, i didn't realise it would have to be this soon). gerry and i planning to go back on the 28th of march.

yay. well, sort of. it will be awesome to see everyone, but less awesome circumstances. hopefully once this is over my stress levels will go down, and i won't have to wake up and take drugs. yay.

on a good note, gerry and i are settling in quite well to our house. it's in the country, as mentioned previously but is cute, and cleans up well. my first party was on friday, and it went well. girls came over and we drank, did masks, and gossiped in our jammers. good times all around.

now that we have bedding for all of the beds, everyone's invited to ireland.

coming soon (i hope) dsl. please pray for it.
