i love lists. they help me focus, organise, feel good, get stuff done.
lately, i feel like my life has been controlled by lists. i do love them, but i don't want them to be the primary focus of every day. some days are okay, but every day? eek.
luckily i got to check off lots of stuff from my list today... the list i'm trying to eliminate. mailbox lock got changed, started a project for this signage that's a sort of shadow box and started a website.
oh!!! from my list yesterday, i got an estimate for this scratch on my car... which i want fixed before i sell it. so i went to the place in hope, and had to wait while he gave this other guy an estimate... and he told the other customer that he couldn't make an appointment until next week wednesday. now, that's fine for the other guy, but not for me. since i'm going to be in hope thursday through sunday, i decided that would be a good time for me to bring in my car. so i proposed a bribe... first homemade cookies, but it didn't appear to be his weakness... brainwave! beer! so, i'm bringing the guy a case of BUD and taking in my car on thursday morning, to be picked up friday. i had mentioned that i live in white rock, and he asked how i was getting home, i told him i would work something out. he said i shouldn't have any trouble... that i'm very convincing. *laugh* for the amount of money i'm saving, i think i'm the winner... including the cost of the beer.

race against time
wow. so it's kinda pissing me off that in the last few weeks of my time here, i have so much to do. boo urns! well, okay, it's not pissing me off, it's making me sad that i can't just sit on my ass all day hanging out with friends drinking daquiris and reading trashy mags. fair enough, it's almost what i did this weekend, at mudge, but i want more!
instead:
today i went to hope to do more prep for the garage sale, get a better quote on getting the scratch fixed on my car so it can be sold, and insurance/lawyer/bank stuff.
and i spent most of my evening in front of the computer working on a site. one work project down, two to go.
tomorrow more work and computer purchasing and of course, garage prep and house sorting. yay!
i'm really tired... i'm sounding grumpy and more sarcastic than usual, if that's possible. i should just go to bed.

mudgkins
spur of the moment, i dropped everything here, and went to mudge island on saturday morning. the stewarts have a cabin there. ian came with. good times were had... tanning, walking and game playing were all done.
it's only my second time there, but i really like it. you're pretty dirty the whole time... there is running water, and a shower, but there's also a serious water shortage issue there, despite being an island, so showering is discouraged.
somehow we managed to get on the ferries we needed on the way there and back. there was of course a problem with one of the ferries on the way back, so it was pretty much an iffy choice...we went to a different terminal first, and they were asking people to come back in an hour just to line-up! so we decided to try a different one, and amazingly we got on. yahoo!
there were no attempts at canoeing this trip. but i did bring an extra pair of pants in case i needed to change. the weather was great, until about two hours before we left the island. in the boat on the way from gabriola to mudge the water was so choppy we totally got wet. so we didn't get to do a sunset cruise, or see the phosporous, but there was plenty of entertainment. we even brought some drinks over and celebrated ian's birthday on saturday night.
backing it up... friday night was ursula and danielle night. yoshi was the master of daisy and peaches (and mario too). and we played crib and had yummy dinner made by danielle. yahoo! we also went to dariy queen. (i drove, danielle was drunk by the time i got to her house).

yeah, i checked under my bed
when i was a kid, my eldest sister, annemarie, used to make me stay up late with her to watch scary movies and scary television. when i say young, i mean quite young. clearly too young. there are a few specific things that still freak me out, the old black and white tales from the dark side, and because we lived at the lake, friday the 13th, sleepaway camp... well most scary movies take place in a small town so i could generally translate that into being similar to the small town that we lived in.
some of those movies still scare me. okay, like all of them. think about it, if you see the exorcist when you're like 6 (give or take) it's gonna do some serious damage.
last night, ian and i saw red eye. there were a couple of jumpy parts in the beginning of the film, before "the chase". i think that i probably could have handled that. *but* then we got to the chase. if it had still been in an airplane, i could have possibly distanced myself from it, but they moved to the house. and i have a problem with that. so, when i got home, i thought i was fine... 90% of the movie wasn't scary. but when i was getting ready for bed, i started to freak out. i checked the closet, under the bed, and in the cupboard that could NOT hold a person. i also had to do the traditional jump from the light to the bed move, popular with children and neurotics.
it's daytime now, so i've calmed down.
i still can't find my mailbox key and have tried using a bobby pin and a knife to open the mailbox. no luck so far.
ian's bringing over my new bed today, and sleep country is delivering the mattress. yippee.

doing it twice is extra nice
some of you may recall my instructions from anna, the palm reader to give a homeless person an onion and some bread. that very night, sarah and i went to dairy queen and i bought a guy a burger. tragically he didn't want to have onions on his burger, so i didn't get to fulfill my chore... or so i thought!!! i have some dairy queen boxes from my move here, and one box is sitting on a rolly thing under my desk. it is a box for heinz ketchup. well! look at that. there is onion powder in heinz ketchup. so i did it right away. yahoo!
and then a couple of weeks ago, i gave some guy a bag of groceries, with bread and an onion (obviously). i hope that it does no harm doing the task twice. they both seemed happy to get the food.

rss addicted
okay, since i started using the rss option for mac news (and some people's blogs) i've actually been skimming the news... well, apple news. :o)
this just in:
Apple Earns PC Magazine Readers Choice Awards
Yesterday, 12:00 AM
PC Magazine reports, “Once again, Apple achieves scores that are far and away the highest for all vendors in our survey, earning Readers’ Choices in both desktops and notebooks. For Apple, in both the desktop and notebook sections of the survey, every single score is significantly better than the industry average for Windows machines. No exceptions.” [Aug 24, 2005]
in other news, i lost my mailbox key. i may have to try to break in to the box with a safety pin. it's not really something i'm looking forward to. anyone know how hard/easy it is to get a new key for an apartment mailbox?

what are you going to do, heather?
we did some sorting today at my mom's house. somehow i don't have to come back tomorrow. i will continue the process next week and the week after, in preparation for the garage sale, but for this week, i'm done.
things i've claimed from the house:
a croquet set - hence the heathers quote (who wants to play?! seriously... maybe this sunday)
table and 4 chairs (i didn't have space for one in kits)
a memory cutting board (for rachel's mom)
a german cookbook (they do eat some non-meat foods)
an indian cookbook (probably bought for me)
an original nintendo (sa-weet)
things were fairly reasonable today. going through a couple boxes made me sad...but i was mostly pretty heartless about it, because i don't need any of that stuff, and i already have some special items that make me think of my mom and dad everyday. oddly, or not, what probably made me the most sad was seeing this picture of my brother from the cub scouts wooden car race that he won first prize for. i totally remember that day. and he had the trophy too...but he doesn't remember any of it. it's the cutest picture of him. but yeah, that was probably the most emotional part. otherwise, things were good. and despite a few tense moments, my siblings were mostly decent.

i am so smart! s-m-r-t!
hmmm... that works better said, than written.
so, i'm back in the rock. why? well, i'd love to tell you.
we went to the house today... and actually after stopping at annemarie's to make sure she was on her way, i only go there at like 11. i knocked on the door, waited around for an hour. nothing. no one was home. and i had called earlier, so no one was answering the phone. turns out the woman was asleep. i wasted so much time going there and coming back because she was asleep, and not answering the door.
anyway, i was reading G's blog and was reminded about a request i got to set up a feed. then i noticed that all you have to do is press the button on your browser that says RSS. or you can just link through this- feed://goodurs.blogspot.com/atom.xml
i was told you can set up something on your desktop and it will update itself when something changes on your blog. blah blah blah. i think people should hit the site, but i'm old school. apparently. so, person, and you know who you are, that's the link, do whatever it is you geeks do. :op
*two minutes later*
oh, i figured out how it works. thank you apple. i heart you.

are those mine?
oh my gosh. i usually pluck my eyebrows at least once a day. often twice. i can't remember the last time i plucked them. the light in my bathroom sucks so huge right now that it's not like i wake up and see the new hairs and think... oh! time to go! instead, i see core eyebrows, which look decent, and nothing else.
today i turned on the heat light, which is actually decently bright and was embarrassed. wow. things had really gotten out of control there. so i went to school on them. and feel better about it. crisis solved. *phewsh*
on to the next one. it is 12.06 and the guy upstairs is doing renovations. that pisses me off huge. if he's still doing them at 1, i will seriously freak out. it echos so loudly and he's stomping around up there. between him and bill there are no sleeping hours.

akbar's own gets a "DARB" rating
out of a rating of DARBAR, akbar's own gets the quality rating of DARB. the atmosphere was great, the dishes delightful, and the the bathrooms almost touchless. the only way akbar's own could have done better is with a dansak and if my lassi had been cold. otherwise omar's recommendation is a hit, and worth mentioning to your friends.
also fun was meeting omar. ian and he seemed to hit it off, despite ian saying he doesn't like catan... there was talk of mountain biking, cars and games. omar gets the rating of DARBA, and could have achieved a full DARBAR if he had just been quicker to admit that huss is someone i am allowed to hate, and that indeed no, he would not introduce ian to huss when he comes to visit... in fact, thinking about that he would have dropped to DAR except that he was quite nice and funny, and interested in getting together for some cat-action before i leave.
ian put pictures up around my house today, and rach and i went to ikea and got some lights to be installed on friday.
yesterday ian, mike H, and i went to the volkswagen car show in the Coq. it was DAY-AMN hot. but good times were had... and really wicked cars were viewed. seeing some of those old bugs in wicked condition made me totally want to bring one back from germany and bomb around the Rock in it. whoot.
i still have one box to unpack tonight. i promised myself i would unpack two boxes today. i've got an hour and fifteen mins to go.
tomorrow i'm going to hope to prepare for the garage sale. i hope things go fairly calmly there. really, that's all i want, some calm, relaxed, peace... i know, i might was ask for the US to reconsider iraq, but we all have our dreams. hopefully i'll at least find the vacuum.

semi-retired
rachel moved in today, and so far things are good. *touch wood*
we're both semi-retired and loving the life. it's really weird to be living with someone again, but kinda nice too. we're actually pretty similar about certain HM (high maintenance) things like food and clean and such, so i have high hopes for this arrangement.
i bought a mattress today, it was a sweet deal... at sleep country so that was exciting because they include delivery. ian will come over with my bed tomorrow and my mattress will be here friday. the guy at sleep country asked what i do for work... i've changed my answer from unemployed (which was just boring) to semi-retired. when rachel and i went upstairs to check out what the guy up there had done for changes, he said he was semi-retired (he's probably 5 years older than me). needless to say we fell in love with the term. it totally described both of us! so now, if someone asks what i do, i will tell them... i'm semi-retired. i admit, it kinda throws people off a bit, but i love it. we throw the term around like we own it. wurrd to semi-retired.
i got set up for skype tonight. the webcam rachel got is going to need some time to get set up. her computer has a virus so i pulled it offline. it might take some work to get it going. eek. sean and i tested out skype, and after some tweaking, we got it going... my side was working fine, i'd like to point out. it was *not* a mac issue... just in case someone was thinking of going there. it was really clear and super fun!
in other news... i'm trying to decide if i'm going to go to the car show with ian tomorrow. there are two reasons not to go. one, because i wasn't well today, i got NOTHING unpacked. i slept and drank ginger ale; not at the same time, but close. and two, his friend mike is going. i don't like mike very much, and find him annoying. so, i could go to a car show with annoying mike, or stay home and unpack. i may be leaning in one direction... hard to say.

upset tummy
my tummy's upset today. i wanted to do lots of stuff like, buy a mattress for the bed ian's made me, go to the gym, go to the beach. i don't feel well enough to do any of those things. yet. i predict a full recovery. *i hope*
rachel moves in today. i'm not sure when, but it will be interesting to see how we get on. we road trip well together, so i coubt this will be hard. and we've lived together at her parents' house... not that we ever saw each other.
while i was at a bank in hope yesterday, two guys with irish accents came in to cash traveler's cheques. i was totally hoping to hear them be all chatty, but only a few words were spoken. *but* it did get me all stoked to go on my trip. and that's exciting!

my menu bar
with safari you get to have a menu bar and a favourites list.
since i don't use eBay, yahoo, and whatever else is automatically on your menu bar i changed things around a bit. i now have people's blogs in a no-effort zone.
this may mean that i will now check everyone's blogs about thirty times a day. despite knowing that no one blogs that much.
why would i do this? because i can.

kill bill vol.3 (* edition 2)
yesterday i had to bring my car in for a service appointment. and because the blinker keeps making noises. Ă¼berannoying. but not as annoying as bill (the seagull) and the rest of the birds he hangs around with.
yes, i've named him (against better advice, i know). i didn't want to call him "that f'ing seagull" anymore, and i thought that this might bring on some decent karma. no. i've been calling him bill for days. no change. bill's a ringleader, and that's part of the problem. he encourages the others, and i don't like it. if he was a teenager, he would have a really loud muffler on his honda, smoke pot and drink. yeah, i know he would.
today, as i was walking home from the gym, birds were circling around, except for the one seagull that actually kind of sounds like a dog sometimes... i think something's up... and as i started this blog, there was a flock of them, SCREAMING. G has suggested that i record their screams and sell it as a ring tone. i think he may be on to something.
suggestions for getting rid of the birds:
• danielle shooting at them
• bleach in bread
• leaving food for them outside someone's house far from me
• pest control
• choking bill to death when i hear him at the beach next time. he goes down there during the evening, to hang out with his posse
• throwing rocks at him
• throwing ian at him
* • my favourite, kill one bird and then hang its carcass from my balcony to ward the others off. i believe in tahoe i suggested hanging it from my neck, but this might be less stinky for me.
now, i don't really want bill dead. i just want him out of my life. oh god. that sounds a bit too familiar.
yesterday i picked my sister up from the airport and drove her to hope.
today i got waxing done and a pedicure.
tomorrow i will take a quick trip to hope to do some stuff and later watch a movie.

french me, i'm canadian
this evening's title is courtesy of danielle, who has suggested a shirt be made for my trip.
so, i am no longer typing away from my bedroom. i am now in the living room (which means that i can start to do some work as well). not that the living room is really set up... but i now have a table to type at, and a too short chair for the table to sit in... at least it will be a different kind of pain. i think rachel becomes my housemate on saturday... which is why i'm not using my "office space" as such.
i have three bug bites on my legs. they're driving me crazy!!!
okay. back to today.
the rest of my house got painted (the baseboards in the dining room, the dining room wall (that had wallpaper on it). ian installed the one light fixture we found today that i liked. my couch and chair are now in my living room, and i can put cds/dvds on the wallshelves. things are really coming along.
unfortunately, tomorrow i have to work, and then pick up my sister from the airport and drive her to hope. that in tiself will be a huge trial. on that note, off to bed.

onions to the homeless
today rachel and i went to the gym, danielle and i went to the beach for tanning, and then played crib. for dinner we went to sophie's to have our palms read.
before sophie's we stopped at safeway and bought two bananas, an apple, an orange, some coffee drink, and of course an onion and some bread (so that i could finish all of the homework previously given).
anna didn't want to read my palms again. she wanted to chat with me. so we did a bit of a check-in. and i told her i was moving to europe, and she said it was a good thing to do. she asked me what i was going to do there, and i told her. she did some chant thing over my hand and told me it would work out. now, even if it doesn't, i'll be more calm about it. i mean, it's nice when an old lady tells you you're doing something right. when she happens to be a palm reader/fortune teller type person as well, that's a bonus.
danielle got a reading. and it was dead on! she may divulge details in her blog, so i will leave that to her. but i can easily say that both of us were like: holy! she is soooo right! it was amazing. that's three people i know that she was on the money with. wicked, ned!
house stuff tomorrow? bruce is doing the filling and painting of rachel's baseboards, and the living room. ian and i are going to look for light fixtures.

the countdown continues
so, it looks like about 6 weeks before my departure. i'm really trying to pack stuff in before i go.
after some communication errors, as in i seem to have omitted an entire section of a conversation i had with her, yvonne and i met up for some egg mcmuffins (a la ursula), fruit salad with yoghurt and chocolate. oh, and it was all started off with some coffee for yvonne and a smoothie for me (that ended up having a hole in the cup and dripped all over me). yvonne got to see my house, approve of some colour choices and kid around with dan, the painter (whose lack of clothing did not effect the high quality of painting i have come to expect from him).
tomorrow danielle and i are going to work on our tans, if the weather holds out. and then we're going to head in to kits to have our palms read at sophie's. i have been slacking. i haven't given my homeless guy the onion and bread yet. i've talked to danielle about it, and i need to make it happen before we see anna. i couldn't disappoint her. not after doing the rest of the stuff she told me to do!
the big stuff in my house is done. i need baseboards in the living room and what will be rachel's room. then there's the towel rack, curtains and all the stuff claude's bringing in: countertops and shelves for the bathroom and kitchen. ian and i are going to shopping for light fixtures on tuesday. oh, and speaking of ian, he's almost finished building my bed. yay! he said he'll go to hope next weekend and finish it up. yahoo! now i have to buy a mattress for it. still... very fun!
i'll probably have a housewarming party not this weekend but next.
be prepared.

a romantic welcome to white rock
last night ian and i had dinner at a restaurant on the beach (my new beach, here in white rock) walked along the boardwalk, watched the sunset, got gelato and walked some more. all very romantic. too bad it was wasted with ian. but it does bring me to a topic that has been discussed a lot recently.
romance.
i would never include being a romantic in my list of qualities. i don't think that i can pull it off, and that it comes across as forced when attempting a "romantic gesture". after analysing the topic in length, X said that i am so romantic i'm beyond it. and they were serious, because we had come to the conclusion that romance is doing something for someone that they like. if someone likes flowers, you bring them flowers. if someone has a seagull that keeps them awake, you kill it (sorry, that one slipped in there... my seagull just stopped by for a visit). and this is where our theory went to pot and i got left with the title of Ă¼ber romantic. i do lots of little things for people.
i don't think i'm trying to sleep with any of them. but is that the ultimate goal of romance, sex?
now, i'm pretty receptive to romantic efforts, but i'm not sure the other way around works that well for me... but maybe i can learn. until then, is okay to keep "romancing" my friends with walks on the beach, little gifts, and meals for two?
what is romance, anyway? is what's nice to one person, romantic to another? is there some sort of scale?

secret's out
i bought ten pairs of underwear yesterday. built the bathroom cabinet all by myself. crushed danielle at cribbage. found out how a monaghan accent sounds. and liked it all. yay!
other things purchased: cherry coke, countchocolat and cookie something cereal, and yoplait. only the yoghurt is for me.
my house is still in a state of stressful chaos. i need to do what danielle and jordy did, get married and ask for money or gift certificates, because otherwise, i might have to get a job before i leave for europe. i can't wait to just be able to come home and not have to sit on my bed or eat on my bed because there's no where else to hang out. danielle and i have now had to play cribbage twice on my bed. it'd be acceptable if there was some making out involved, but there isn't. so, this means it sucks.
i would like to point out that everything that's been done so far looks wicked. the paint, the baseboards, the floors in my room, the new plugs, AWESOME! all of it. and i will concede to needing to change the chandelier. ian even offered to change it for me. first i have to firgure out how much new countertops in the kitchen will cost, and the shelves for the bathroom and kitchen (the cupboard i built yesterday looks a bit big in the space, so i'm going to use it as a dresser... it's kind of like two steps forward, one step back).
tonight, i'm staying up late to get tickets to the foo in london in december. it's advance tickets, so i don't want to miss out on the chance to cut the lines. i'm so f'ing exhausted though... it's the seagulls really. i either need to set my alarm, or be prepared to fall asleep as soon as i get the tickets. i have to leave for hope at about 9 tomorrow, so even the seagulls would let me, i can't sleep in.

ursula's secret-finished
heh heh. well, not a real secret. like i'd publish that. well, one day i might. we'll see.
anyway, i'm just waiing for danielle to get here so we can bust across the border to victoria's secret. i always get in trouble for being late for her, so it kind of makes me happy she's late today. on the shopping list? cute undies. whoot!
yesterday ian and i went to pick up my bike from my old apartment. it was a success. i had found the right key.
we also went to ikea. we went for me. he even left his wallet in the car. initially we didn't even buy the cabinet for the bathroom, because he picked up these two huge pieces of wood (which were a really great price) and i was like,
oh danielle's here. more later
LATER
i was like, we can't buy the cabinet as well, because my bike's on the back of he car. so ian had to call his friend and get him to come to ikea in his company truck to pick up ian's wood. the best part is that there was a guy at ikea that was totally checking out what we were buying. while ian was getting the carts, the guy came soooo close to me, and was staring at the table top and the wood thing. and while we were waiting for ian's friend, he totally came up and chatted to us, and was like, oh, that's your car? (in the store he'd asked how we were getting it home.) and while we were waiting for roger, ian went in to buy the bathroom cupboard. so in the end it worked out.
oh, and someone had their car stolen that day while at ikea. i think some employees witnessed it.

my boyfriend's back
bert is back!!!
todd bertuzzi is once again allowed to play hockey. yahoo! this means that the first line is now complete... and so is my heart. i am seriously super stoked!!! YAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYYAYAYAYYA!
i know that this means i will have to get up at the most messed up hours in ireland to listen to games and stuff, but i think i can do it. obviously i'll have to take time off for the play-offs if i'm working there. :o)
go canucks!!!

home for a rest
i am now home. well, i have been for the past two sleeps, but whatev.
it's very busy sround here with renovations and such. i want them to be done, and have been told that the floor in the living room should be done by next saturday or sunday. very exciting.
i can't believe how huge this place is compared to my apartment in kits. wowsers.
rachel and i are joining a gym tomorrow, and are going to go for a workout. and in the afternoon, ian and i are going to go pick up my bike from my old place, and probably hit ikea for some stuff, like a wall unit for my living room. and maybe some shelves for my bedroom.
the paint looks awesome! and the floor in my bedroom looks great too! but i really can't wait to not have my house being worked on. i want to finish unpacking and not worry about which side of the livng room the tv will go on, so i can decide where shelves have to go, which is also dependant upon if i get a fireplace, and where/how that will go!
this evening i was trying to figure out when i need to buy my tickets for ontario/europe. i was counting the weeks, and at most, i'm seven weeks away from leaving. ho-ly. i'll email people to find out availability with consideration to plans i've already made... so get ready... and check your schedules! for people that live here and want to get some ursula time in before i go... now's the time!!!
i think i'm still having trouble with my iron levels because in tahoe i started suddenly crashing. i would be instantly exhausted. no warning. so, i'm going to get tested again, and rachel's going to find a protein powder that has iron in it. today i was almost a complete write-off. i helped with changing the plugs and cleaning up as the electrical work was done, but i seriously needed to lay down throughout the day. otherwise, i've been fine, i slept regularly while on vacation and got up at a good time. got lots of sun. that sort of stuff. yay!
pictures on the house will come once it's finished.
*i'm not sure if this posting makes sense but i'm sort of out of it right now... so please be kind. :o)

leaving lake tahoe
we're leaving tahoe a day early. today we'll get to my aunt's house in elko. i hope i don't ahve so much of a hang-over tomorrow that i have trouble driving.
maybe we'll see strippers tonight.
should be back friday.

should be back friday.
go big or go home
that quickly became our motto at the blackjack table today.
ian went to northstar for biking today, and i went to the casino for blackjack. i walked away from the table over $400 richer. saweet. as tradition dictates, dinner is on me tonight. the woman beside me at the table that i talked shop (bags and shoes) with suggested this restaurant in the hotel, so i got the pitboss to make me reservations. yay! dinner's at 8.
oh yeah! last night, after dinner, ian went back to the hotel to check his email and see what was going on with the bank, and i waited for him at the casino. he was supposed to be right back, but wasn't. as soon as i started waiting for him, a woman came up to me and asked me to go to breakfast with her. i'd like to say she was totally sober and totally hot, but she wasn't. when i was still waiting for ian like 30 mins. later, she re-approached me. i left shortly after that.
today, as i was getting my grande passion lemonade at starbucks, a cute girl approached me and asked me if my (cheap, london drugs) sunglasses were sunglasses. and i was like, uh, no. they were like $20 canadian. so then she went on and on about where she works, and asked for my email address, and talked about how nice people in oregon, washington and BC are.
seriously, i totally do NOT get approached by normal people. it's always unstable people. at least i didn't have to lie to either one. and the second girl did seem nice. just super super friendly. oh wait, that's a lie. the woman at the blackjack table seemed normal... if eccentric, and extremely rich. we'll see her at dinner tonight. she made reservations for 7.45.

burn!
ian and i both got burned yesterday. he got burned where he didn't put sunscreen on, despite my suggestion. i got burned lots of places. my face (because i didn't want to get acne from the sunscreen) and one side of my back (where ian "put on" the sunscreen) are the most severe. this means i need to take a break from the beach today. which totally sucks. if nothing else, i looooooooove the beach. swimming and tanning rule!
i don't know what we're doing today. but it could involve a hike (barf) and some more swimming (YAY!). we'll see how it goes. ian, of course is still sleeping... he will get bugged awake when i'm ready to go. there has already been talk of buffets. i hate buffets, so i get to watch ian and wade stuff themselves and then feel sick afterwards. *shakes head* boys.

ta-hoefer
we arrived in tahoe last night. i don't understand how it takes and me sooooo long to drive anywhere. it truly is a mystery. it could have something to do with not being able to find a subway to get a sandwich, we looked for like an hour and a half (if you include all of the detours and following of sightings to closed restaurants). anyway, good times were had, even if subway wasn't. we ended up eating at mcdonald's and i hated it. it was one of the grossest things i've eaten in a long time. i feel like i am ready for fear factor now.
it's hot here, and i'm just killing some time while ian gets ready. today we're going to go to the beach, maybe get some fruit/snacks at the grocery store and he's going to check out biking stuff.
we got to healdsburg on saturday night, wade met up with us at his house, and then his friend, nate, came over too. we drank. i got shitfaced. as of yesterday i've been drunk every day of my vacation. and friday wasn't even a full day.
so far, so good.
