good readin'

hopefully this will encourage dr. iJeffy to update the parsons-sheldrake site more often! this site may even be funny if you don't know the good doctor, or his family. and now you can make comments...like me.

and these other numbers:

7007 (you know the area code!)

so, i'm talking to "e" about these lights that need fixing in the building (cause ian's doing it) and suddenly the topic changes to some people have complained about the flower lights that i have on my balcony. (most of you have seen them, i would genuinely like your opinion on this). because they are pink and fake flowers they feel they are tacky. so i'm like: is council sending me a letter? she's like, well we have to maintain the look of the building, blah blah blah, bylaws, whatever (is it obvious how i feel?) so i said: well, until council sends me a letter i'm not going to take them down because i don't think they're obtrusive or obnoxious. in fact, someone from the building just complimented me on them. are they obnoxious and tacky and i just can't see it? i mean, i barely have anything on my balcony... i could arrange for some real dead flowers; with my record, it'll only take a couple weeks.

on a nicer note, today ian came over for birthday dinner and cupcakes (so he can take them to work, unlike whole cakes which are harder to transport). we started playing his birthday NES and making the bruchetta... the pasta didn't get made because ian cut the whole 1/2 loaf so we ate bruchetta. which turned out yummy.

less yummy would have been the angel food cake i made for knitting in the buff. i think it got over whipped while i got stuck on the phone with "e" so i didn't cook right. i pulled it out because the top was totally brown... i decided to risk it. i shouldn't have. when i was flipping the pan over to cool it, the whole thing came tumbling out. like warm foam. it was hilarious. except that i still have a tonne of icing that is looking for some cake action. seriously. i made a batch of icing that said for 10-12 people i had at least 18 cupcake...probably 21. and like 3/4 of the icing left over.

then we watched the last episode of law & order SVU (season 1) and when i say we, i mean me. ian's like, let's watch a scary one. and then falls asleep. superjob!

now i'm trying to eat the grapes i bought today, but i noticed (while making my lunch for work tomorrow) that there was a cob web/ spider eggs on one section of the sprig, or whatever it's called. i'm trying to force myself to eat some of the loose ones (i threw the spidery section away (and then some) locked inside a plastic bag just in case the eggs hatch tonight). but i keep thinking of biology 11 and eggs hatching inside a person. sure, they were worms, but couldn't that happen with spiders? and it can't really be that great of a feeling. as you can maybe see, i'm having trouble eating those grapes.

i'm working at the store tomorrow, which is good. i have a computer to buy... and i already have two visitors lined up. thanks rach and yvonne! i like visitors!

today's blog is brought to you by the numbers:

7,3,2

and the words: candle party

not only is danielle having a candle party, but so i my sister. until this point in my life i have avoided going to any. now i have to go to two. i still don't need any more candles.

i am feeling MUCH better today. i had a pretty good sleep... didn't wake up a million times, and didn't get a phone call til 10ish. NOT from erna, thank jeebus. i have this weird feeling she'll be calling me this evening. i don't know why...maybe because ian's coming over, and we refer to her as his girlfriend. i hope she never finds this blog site. imagine? oh, the phone calls!

my friend jeffy got an iPod. we're starting a club. we now have new cult/club names: iJeffy, iUrsy, etc. it's fun! what would have been more fun is if iJeffy got the iPod before hugh was born, and then he could have named him iHugh... you know, legally and stuff. *lmao* cause i'm sure cheryl wouldn't mind.

speaking of doctors, yesterday i doctored up the photos from my utah trip. they turned out pretty well, so i'm going to send them london drugs to get printed. i had to edit out all of the dates and times... so there was a bit of photoshop work. but i think it's hard to tell that they've been edited. it was sooooo easy to use my sister's camera with my computer! i didn't even have to download a driver. i still prefer the look of 35mm but the changes and editing that you can do with digital are fun too.

didn't go

i didn't go to the special dinner. because i feel so crappy. instead (because i didn't have any real foods at home) i went food shopping. i MUST be on crack. i just unpacked my groceries and i bought 3 bags of chips. seriously. i don't even remember grabbing them, and i KNOW i can't eat them right now. i'd probably barf. i also bought potatoes, and potato salad. did i mention that one of the bags of chips is potato? i did buy some normal stuff, apples, bananas, lettuce. but mostly i bought chips and potatoes. and 2 happy planet raspberry smoothies...which are WAY cheaper (like 50%) at capers than at safeway. weird? yes. very.

oh boy.

thankfully i brought a list, so ian's cupcakes will get made. i literally had scrape the bottom of the barrel for the flour. i was at capers, on the ground, leaning the container on its side, trying to get enough flour for his cake. luckily i only spilled a bit. like 1 tbsp. maybe two. i hope that combined with what i already had, it's enough.

okay, it's cupcake baking time.

i don't feel so well

i think i've got the flu.

now i have to decide if i'm going to my special work dinner tonight. ugh. i need to lay down.

mudd

i forgot! my mudd jeans were a hit. they look cute, and they provide entertainment. my jeans have a glitter mudd written on the pocket, so danielle said: you have mudd on your bum. ha ha! and then i was checking out how they look, and in the mirror it looks like bbum. CUTE!!!

got you where i want you

oh my god. i TOTALLY forgot about this song. but i heard it on the radio and was like: oh YAY! so, i downloaded it and of course some soundgarden, cause who can listen to that song without thinking about chris cornell? try it. i dare you.

hope was decent today. played some crib with d and my mom, and lost HUGE. had over-priced sushi. did laundry. put this special stuff on my windshield that ian gave me, because i was complaining that my windshield was messed up. and it worked. which was good.

what was especially funny? well... as danielle was giving me her glamour magazine, she read it while doing her garage sale, she said (paraphrased) i don't understand it: cosmo said purple and pink eyeshadows are out, and glamour says they're in. i'm so confused.

it was awesome.

i picked up my sister's digital camera while i was in hope. i'm going to try to upload some pics that i took in utah on our vacation (she doesn't know how to send pics). i don't know if her camera is mac friendly. wish me luck! AND i got a hot glue gun so i can make adorable flowers for hair! oooh, i can't wait to get started...too bad this week is too busy to get started. and i got a cartridge for my fax machine, so that it's not just collecting dust... fax away people!

only 5 sleeps til calgary!

bur, straw, red

it's cold today! but i have complete faith that it will warm up next week. and if not, then when the kiddies are back at school. that would make me very happy.

so, the other day i bought special K with red berries. i would never have tried it, except it was the cereal of choice at mudge. it was on sale for 2.50/box at safeway, so i jumped on that berry wagon. since the cereal was first introduced i have been puzzled over the name. why red berries? it sounds so artificial... so artificial that i didn't think they were real strawberries. but they are. they're dried strawberries. red berries sounds like we made them look like strawberries but they aren't, so legally we can't say that they are...hmmm... let's just call them red. kinda like blue.

anyway. i hate the name and almost couldn't buy them because they are so ridiculously named.

she bangs

today i got bangs. i didn't get a full haircut. i got highlights, a parking ticket, and bangs. and my hair flat ironed of course.

i SHOULD have got jeffy to fundraise to get me a flat iron, not a computer. i wonder (because i hate pc's) if i could (for the same price) get a person to programme catan for mac. cause THAT would be ideal.

anyway, i look totally extra hot now, and i'm stoked for janet's party.

i'm going to hope tomorrow. should be aight. oh wait. except that my family's totally BONKERS CRAZY. so, if nothing else: it will be an event.

and, FYI: i still have about a loaf and a half of bread from tuesday... and i only bought 2 loaves. i'm doing well.

get the bitch!

played mario party tonight with anghold and james. it was fun. but i f'ing hate that princess daisy. i think... maybe i'm wrong... maybe it's just too fresh, and i don't have perspective... but i think more than peach. GRRR! daisy rocked us hard. and not in the good way.

anghold/peach beat everyone (out of the living players). you got mad skills lady.

also today, this woman in my building called. i recognised the number, and since she's on strata and talks for a really long time, i decided to not answer. she calld again. and again. 6 times in 20 mins. (max) and then she called my cell phone. it was nuts. after the third time i was like: i'm 100% NOT answering the phone. and she didn't even leave a message. the worst part is that she listened to my whole message all of those times, because twice it recorded her breathing and hanging up. FREAKY.

if you go to the PNE, please buy me cotton candy. lola and i need more, so we can concentrate. thank you. i will love you.

superdogs

until tuesday, when toren told me about seeing the superdogs show with the girl he's been dating (who happens to be the president of the fan club of the guy who does the dog show) i had NO idea there was a dog show, let alone a superdog show at the PNE. it has been a very long time since i've been to the PNE. in fact, i KNOW that i've been to playland, i DON'T know that i've been to the PNE. maybe with heather's family. but i DO know all about it. cause everyone talks about it. and i've been to fairs before. wow. back to the point. yesterday, people were like: i love the superdog show. i can't wait to see the superdogs. who knew? is this a more recent addition to the PNE? why have i not heard about this before? toren got free dog food that he feeds to his cat. in calgary they had a mountain bike show. that was cool. maybe there is a supercat show...cats are HARD to train; that would impress me. i'm sorry. i can't get excited about the dog...i mean superdog show. maybe if i go to the PNE, my mind will change. this could be the year.

on the phone yesterday with yvonne, we were both taking work breaks, i was looking through lola's people magazine. i was commenting on how trashy it was. yvonne suggested that it's less trashy than cosmo. i think that cosmo IS trashy, 100%. but in a different, less sleazy way. there's way less celeb crap. which i mostly care nothing about, because when i do read celeb crap, i tend to remember it, and then feel it necessary to bring up in normal conversation. which makes me feel like a celeb junky, and i hate it... cause i don't think that i am. it's just that i remember the crap stuff. and with my deluxe 4 station programming going on, sometimes i have to watch entertainment tonight. i hate myself while i'm doing it, and i feel cheap afterward. guilty too. but sometimes i do it.

please works!

i forgot to say:

when i went to my car to go to rachel's today, my sign was gone, and the blueberries swept up! how very exciting.

AND i get to miss the strata meeting next week... this is probably the MOST exciting!

the station agent

whew! i TOTALLY couldn't remember the name of this movie. despite my drawing blank on its title, this is a great film! rachel and i watched it with her mom tonight. it was soooo great. so funny. seriously, this is a must-see. it's an indie film about this guy that inherits some land with an old train station from his friend. which is not really saying enough, but i think it's good to go in not knowing much. so : the station agent, go see it.

dinner at rachel's was good. i think i should move back there. we had three desserts... they were left overs-it's rachel's birthday week, and she's leaving for india/nepal straight from ontario, so it's welcome home and bon voyage week too.

lola DID bring over some refried black beans... and some regular refried beans. so we had black bean soup and chips with refried beans. i passed on the chick pea salad at dinner. i'm convinced it was for the best.

also, we finished the cotton candy/candy floss today. yummy! thanks toren!

7 letter word, triple word score

clearly, i kicked ass tonight. ian, if you happen to read this, i hope it's a couple of days later at least... so the pain is less severe. do you count the 50 points for using all of your letters before you do the x 3 business? or is it after? :o) guess i'm still a little buggy!

ian came over this afternoon... we went to get bread (lekker and white) and embroidary thread in the rain. and MAN was it raining. i was soooo wet when we got home (and not the good kind, either) then we played scrabble, watched some CSI and waited for indian. and waited some more for indian. it was nuts. but the food was good. when i called the second time to see where the order was (1.5 hrs later) i asked if they could send a coupon or something. i mean really... i waited for 10 mins on the phone to place the order! good thing i bought a new battery for that phone... i wouldn't have been able to stay on it for that long otherwise!

toren got me cotton candy at the PNE today. i forsee flossing for the next few days. at cross-stitching without the buff, we watched extreme ghostbusters and charlie's angels 2 (which toren wanted to be called, plan b). it was my first time watching to cartoon, and my second time watching the movie. the movie was still funny. i laughed a lot.

tomorrow lola comes over. i hope she brings a can of refried beans so that i can make black bean soup.

happy birthday ratch-hell!

ewan

oh my god! i don't know how to interpet this. i was checking the comments for the post that talks about how i'm in love with ewan, and the ad for it was "ewan mcgregor: the unauthorised biography". do they put specific ads based upon content? or is it just random? what could this mean? one thing's for sure: rachel had better be careful who she "ews" at!

blueberries haunt my dreams

and they are still all over my parking space. grr.

i have smooth pits, and clean dishes. and i've been working on websites today. things are looking up. i just need to get some thread for knitting in the buff.

breathe

yay! i've got a few minutes to chillax, put on some ella & louis and chat, have a glass of wine and write my blog!

GETTING OLD

it's weird that i've worked like 15 days in a row before, and now, i'm like whoa! three days?! but i guess it's because it spanned over the weekend this time. and i had to sort of multi-book. like saturday i worked, and then i met up with rach and mahli, and then sunday i worked and went to rachel's then to the videogame movie night, and then today was work and then satomi's birthday and then super mario party ... i wish i didn't have to say this, but toren kicked my ass. we played the difficult level, and MAN, i sucked. HUGE!

the point is, i think i'm too old for this lifestyle. i'm really tired. and to be honest, staying up late to watch the olympics (they suck you in) has probably been my downfall... but i guess i'm addicted... to that and the order of the phoenix on my iPod... well, and a million other things.

BLUEBERRY UPDATE

today, before i went to work, i printed a sign that reads:

PLEASE
clean up your blueberries!
they are all over my parking spot
& they are annoying.

i didn't want to leave the tape in my car or anything, so i pre-taped it, but then it got all stuck together, so i didn't really save tme by doing that. if they're not cleaned up by tomorrow, i will go down with my broom, and a bad attitude about the whole mess.

PEE/STOP

i guess i got used to holding my pee at rachel's cabin. cause this morning i had to pee sooooooo bad, but i really didn't want to get out of bed. and i know it's really bad for you. but i was TIRED! FINALLY i really really had to go, so i went to the bathroom and i barely even peed. but then i knew more would come. this happened at least six times. it was crazy. just the peeing and stopping part: i didn't get out of bed six times. then tonight i had to pee so bad when toren was in the washroom, but it was only a little pee after DYING to go. maybe i messed up my urinary tract. hopefully things will get more disciplined down there.

WAX ON/WAX OFF

yay! tomorrow i get my pits waxed. i love it. i don't care if other people have hairy pits, and between waxes, things can get a little hairy for me, but it's not a big deal. i just love getting it waxed. i only shave if it's a BIG emergency. it feels good. like getting a piercing or something. and lola told me about the cheap place in yaletown. so i'm going to check it out; they have some awesome combos, like a facial, pedicure, manicure and paraffin treatment for like 110 or something. i will review them tomorrow.

boo urns

i have heard this phrase three times today. can you believe it?

everyone speaks the same phrases.

i went to ratchel's b-day barbeque today. mahli and i were the only non-naturopaths. we bonded in our difference. it was fun, i haven't seen rachel's mom in a while, so it was good to get some home cooking! (that wasn't cooked by me). it was also nice to see the NC (naturopathic crowd). and i met the new dog.

after dropping flea off, i went to ang's place in the coq. as there was no WIZARD we were going to watch teenage mutant ninja turtles. which was sooooooo wicked-awesome of her to have rented. cause i was pushing for it, but then there was uproar from the nerdy community as to its authenticity as a video game movie (because it was a comic book first). of course, i was like, YEAH, WHATEVAH! I LOVE BEING A TURTLE! anyway. we couldn't watch it, cause it was getting eaten by the vcr.

oh well. i haven't seen ang or yvonne in a couple weeks... yummy cupcakes.

work today: blew. well, that's mostly a lie. it was fine. but i had to train someone to close, and we did coaching all day, and the girl at the other store had a hang over so one girl from our store had to go there. and then when we were clsing there was a customer who wanted to look at everything, but didn't buy anything. so let me tell all of you "the store is closing but i'm still looky-looing" people: buy something. because one day, the person helping you will snap. and it won't be pretty.

blueberry conspiracy

someone has spilled blueberries all over the underround parking garage. and by all over, i mean, they seem to have settled into my parking spot. they're in front of my car, and behind.

i think it's a set-up. think about it. it's like they were poured on top of my car and fell front and back. oh, and there's a little trail that leads up to about the car door.

i'm surprised i haven't received ANY calls from strata council regarding this. if they're still there tuesday, i'll clean them up. for now. it's off to work.

and p.s. i don't like blueberries, and never buy them.

work it, let me work it. put my thing down, flip and reverse it

so, in my efforts to be a productive person, i went to work today. the work outside the home stuff. oh, and to pay my mortgage. :oD

there's a lot of new stuff at the store... which means i bought some stuff. i still have a credit. so it's totally not like i spent money. AND the purse i picked out was favoured by rachel, so i'm going to give it to her for her birthday. i really don't need another bag. and there's this cute hula girl one anyway. anyway, rach picked out some stuff she liked and mahli did too. it was fun. and a nice break from weird-o customers.

rach, mahli and i went for indian tonight. we decided to go to kohinoor. which has tastey food, but the service is pretty weak. we talked about movies. rachel can only remember the names of two famous people: kate blanchett (sp?) and mel gibson. it was great. and we made fun of my taste in guys... which is completely opposite to rachel's. example: rachel thinks robert redford is hot for an old guy... i say: leather face! i think ewan is waaaay hot...she doesn't really know who he is. which is almost a sin. :oD and then when i explained, she was like, ew!!!

hot guys to me, that rachel thinks are gross:
ewan mcgregor
viggo mortenson
aidan (from sex & the city)
joaquin phoenix
chris noth

hot guys for rachel, gross to me:
robert redford
barishnakov (sp?)

people we agreed we'd date:
jack black, cause he's soooooo funny
hugh grant, who won a place in my heart with love, actually

we also talked about friends that are gay but don't know it. friends that were gay, but aren't now. and percentages of gay/straight: like how straight are you in relation to how gay you are. and we talked about friends getting wives. literally.

all in all, a fun day. we also tried to get mahli to move here. i think it's working. i gave her the low-down on prices of condos here vs. D.C. i think she's interested. now we just need to get her a job.

i want all of my friends to move to b.c. i would like that.
