postman pete

so i used to have the hugest crush on my postman. he's hot. i haven't seen him in months though. i loved his hair. his name's not pete, it's stu. i HIGHLY doubt he would ever read this, so i feel comfortable writing his name. he knows mine, afterall.

anyway, i'm currently reading this book that i thought would be more shit-my-pants-hilarious to read (i apparently will read anything from greek tragedies to trashy chick-lit). anyway, i'm not really into the book yet. only about 90 pages. but i died last night reading:

"He's carrying a bunch of folders. I make a mental note to order some more... in hopes that he will be the guy delivering them." and even funnier, about her neighbour, "In hopes of another chance run-in with him, I will check the mail at the same time every day. Even when I no longer live here."

yay! everyone loves the mail. and boys associated with it.

last night, ian and i were trying to figure out this telescope my mom leant me (please, if you know anything about them, contact me) and a jeep (plate # 315 FAM) was parking in front of me on the street. in his expert parking job, he hit my mom's jeep. so, i'm like, what the h? you don't park by feel. so i went down there and was like, look, i saw you hit my car. i'm taking down your plate number, i'll look tomorrow if there's any damage. he says: "oh, did i? well, it was just a tap!" like, okay, that IS how you're supposed to park. if it was my car, and not my mom's, he would have scraped the hood instead of bumping it. and that pissed me off. and his passenger was drunk. and i felt like he had been drinking too. anyway... while i went inside, he decided to film the car. fine, like i care. there's probably no damage. but really, if you hit someone's car and they call you on it: take some responsibility. say sorry at least. anyway. if you see this guy's car, it's an older style jeep cherokee and it's blue i think. he may be drunk. watch out.

i saw the village last night. and liked it. much repect for his ability to build tension and fear. beautifully filmed.

i am the hub

i went to janet's site and did a personality test she links to. the conclusion? "You're a 'people person'. Networking runs in your blood. Consequently, you can move through most social circles with ease."

fun!

and on that note:

don't forget barbeque night next week saturday! and if you're interested in meeting here for some pre-fireworks festivities tonight, let me know! danielle and i are heading down to the beach with radio just before 10...so, let's say 9.40 ish. maybe we could play nintendo before hand! ooooh nintendo. invite who you will. call if you have questions.

thorn

dear corn,

i heart you. and everything you associate yourself with.

you truly are the best replacement for cobs (a coincidence?) bread.

peaches and cream, indeed!

thanks corn. thorn.
(that was for mmmarlo, why-vonney, angholdmetighter, and tori)

with love, goodurs

do your toes say,"No!" to downward dog?

there are chronicles everywhere...suddenly every new book is the chronicles of something. it's like dance dance revolution.

last night i went to abbotsford, cause my best friend from grade six is there right now. so while i was waiting for her in a parking lot (her parents' gated community is right next to a cinema) i had to, more than once, pretend that i had pulled over to use my phone! (i was waiting a while.) there were a couple of kids that came out to empty the trash, and i was like, great, here i am, weirdo, either trying to case the joint, or trying to break in to someone's car... and then this guy walks by my car, and i started to panic, like he was going to ask me what i was doing there or something. turns out, he's checking out the lowered truck beside me... i saw him while i was "on the phone". and then 10 mins later he brings out another guy and they start checking out the car... and admiring it very much... i overheard this while "on my phone". anyway, heather came back, and we had fun hanging out, girl talking. i like not pregnant heather. it's been a while since i've seen that one, but it's the one i like best. :o) and heather, mason, and promise surprised my mom (which made her day). it was fun. i think my mom wants grandkids. hard to say. i would be willing to consider a time-share kind of thing. well...maybe. let's see what the return policy looks like first.

oh! i picked up my barbeque today... let's get roasting. and my mom wanted me to take her telescope for a couple weeks, cause she can't see anything in hope (too smokey).

also, as i am the maid *hee hee* of honour at danielle's wedding, i went with her and her mom to see 2 of the 3 potential photographers. one i thought was cool. one was crazy. seriously. eek. he was trying to make jokes about the other photographers being alcoholics and stuff, so she should pick him. it wasn't working out so well as a joke. it almost came across as desperate.

i also went to the doctor today. i like her. she's very nice. and probably thinks i'm crazy. i save up things that are wrong with me for a one-shot deal. so i had 4/5 things to deal with today.. fyi: i DO NOT need my ears cleaned. and my toe was broken and will probably have arthritis now! she suggests no more downward dog. i'm not sure i will listen to her. but she was nice about it. also... in case anyone is concerned... gina is sore now.

oh! and what i was going to write about yesterday:
my issues with strollers. not the people, god knows... i'm an f'ing stroller of the worst kind. i hate how people think that, oh i have a stroller... i'm going to block the whole sidewalk, while with my friend who has twins. we have babies. we are the most important. and please don't complain to me if your f'ing buick-style-play-pen-on-platinum-wheels stroller doesn't fit in a store. like i care. how could i have remembered this? and what brought it on? i believe yesterday two people with strollers just took their time crossing the street or something. but what reminded me of it was today, at chapters. i was leaving the store, and blam. right in the middle of the doorway a woman stopped. at a bit of an angle... so really there was no way around. first of all, even if it's sans stroller, that's rude. secondly, be careful! you have a stroller!

girls who like girls who like boys...

whoo hooo! last night was fun! happy birthday heidi!

so, either i was getting drunker and the music stayed the same or i was getting drunker and the music was getting better. in any case: yay to pink martinis! and yay to cute girls in black shirts and yay to dancing gay boys. i KNOW there were a few things i was going to comment on, but i don't remember what they were. so, that can be a tomorrow thing, if yvonne reminds me.

today two things happened in my car of note. both while going to the coq. to ang's house.

1. on my first trip there, on first ave, there were two guys crossing the road. one was going at a good speed (they were walking) the other was sauntering along, on his cell phone. at this point, i'd like to mention that it is a 6 lane road. so i kinda kept my speed, but potentially sped up. who's to say? i was getting really close, fast. (this is a very busy road, and people go fast). so he FINALLY looked up and realised that he'd better run. i think it freaked him out. and it should have, because there are so many things wrong with that. jay walk. whatever. i don't care. but DON'T jay walk while on your phone, chillaxing in the middle of the f'ing road. what the h are you thinking? i hope that today he learned a valuable lesson. i WILL run you over. well, probably.

2. while going to drop ang off, toren and i saw a hyundai accent in front of us with a mustang sticker on the trunk. i have only one problem with this. if it were meant ironically it would be funny. i don't think the nederlander meant it to be. also, i think toren feels that the NL for nederlands also means nether region.

before i forget... this dance dance revolution thing is going too far. last night on wheel of fortune, one of the contestants said she got addicted to it and so she had to buy the whole thing so you can play it at home. when did this revolution happen? i KNOW people have been playing it for a while, but when did everyone start talking about it?

also, as my third day without toast, i think i'm starting to go into the caleb allergy restriction crisis again. i had nachos yesterday. and i will be replacing breads with corns. like popcorn (lola).

peoples! don't forget to tell me if you're coming to the barbeque on the 7th. just so i have an idea, and because i need to plan. :oD if you didn't get an invitation, ask around, they're floating in cyberspace.

last but not least, props to janet for the for the mario party boost! and props to toren for getting his ass totally kicked harsh today. even if that's only a 60% er. :op i laugh at you.

JIBJAB comedy

check out this link. pretty funny.

http://www.jibjab.com/

kerry and bush do a musical together! at last!

toasting in hell

i'm trying to get off toast. no, that doesn't say: get toast off. i know that i'm addicted. everyone knows it. i think the people at cobs know it... although i do try to buy in large quantities so that i go in less often. so this morning i'm making do with cheerios and banana. because of my addiction, i haven't been eating cereal very much... toast owned me. so now, my cheerios (despite the little clipy thing) are slightly stale. i'm so sad. :o( is it that nothing seems perfect next to toast? or are the little O's really going bad? if only i hadn't eaten my last piece of bread for a week yesterday! i even ate the bum! oh lord.

what's happening? just last night we were talking about dance dance revolution, while playing supermario party (now would be the appropriate time to mention that yoshi and i kicked animated butt). and now, today, lola has made me dowload dance dance revolution: butterfly. it's awesome. it's a mix of japanese techno pop that i'm convinced is one of the most popular songs for the game. how could it not be? if the two are not connected, feel free to let me know.

if you want to find this song look under DDR-butterfly or dance dance revolution-butterfly. on the butterfly note, i also got crazytown's butterfly song... reminds me of summer. and bullet with butterfly wings. i love that song.

oh and i forgot to tape jeopardy last night. i was thinking about it, and then had a shower and made dinner. and then it was too late. is ken still kicking ass?

email

on thursday and friday i got MAD email. seriously. i was way into double digits. it was wicked. ian and i left my house, i remembered something i'd left, came back, and i already had new emails. it was a good email day. i was soooo giddy from it. someone likes me x 30. it's the little things really.

oh yeah... so this brings us to the point. i got an email today reminding me about the castle reunion... i worked in england at a castle that is a school. does this make sense? it doesn't really have to. anyway. i am not interested. especially if josh might be there. i know, it's been forever. but if you don't like someone's personality and their politics, then you don't like them.

things like this make me feel like a non-participator. but is that what you are when you don't want to do something, or is that what you are when you want to, but don't?

the cherry is popped

yay! i've jumped on the blogbandwagon. and i like it here!

i haven't been out of bed too long, so i haven't much to say about today, so yesterday will have to do...

i desperately wanted to go swimming yesterday, but couldn't find peeps to head to the lake with me. imagine that. it was sunday and everyone had plans. i didn't feel like going alone, since i just got back from a road trip and needed it to be a fun drive if i was going to go. instead, i sat around, watched law & order ci and at the last minute, went shopping and made treats for the SCI-FI extravaganza.

that night, as planned, we sat down with tonnes of popcorn, some 50's style sci-fi marshmallow treats, and a slurpee or two at ang's house for old-school sci-fi movies. (confession: i have a degree in film, and i'd never seen TRON-well, until last night). holy homo-eroticism. the suits! the girl! the motorcycles! oh the 80's!

and especially, the H-O-T commentary. :oD i had no idea that the early geeks had sex, i guess it had to start somewhere. probably as an experiment.

then we watched logan's run. i think that might have been a film we were supposed to watch in one of my classes, but i didn't. thank jeebus. whoa. that little gem could have easily been a half-hour shorter. and i must admit. i was a little shocked by the outfits. but they did have a climate-controlled environment. hmmm... the only chick with boobies was farah. seriously, those were some sassy outfits. and i think we were all in agreement, too much walking, not enough running.
